Heaven through my lens

"Curves and Cuisine”

A Road Trip From Bengaluru to Mangalore

Travelling a journey from Bengaluru to Mangalore for the first time, driving on  winding roads that had us  awake each time the vehicle turned. Morning greeted us with the comforting aroma of sambar idli, followed by the discovery of "patri" – a culinary delight akin to dosa. The day unfolded sandy beaches and towering lighthouse at “NITK Beach” in surathkal, but my fear for height kept me grounded and didn’t let me go all the way there. Cafes with authentic Mangalorean dishes and attractive international things, with "Shake Factory" that won my heart, we set out to explore the culinary delights of the region, indulging in the mouth-watering flavours that awoke our senses with each bite. From the street food to exotic delicacies, every dish had a tale of tradition and innovation to tell, and left us craving for more.

Although there was hustle and bustle all around the vibrant city, the burning heat of Mangalore reminded me of Bangalore and its weather. With each sip of refreshing coconut water or a cool breeze by the sea, me and my friend found relief in the middle of the heat, embracing the essence of summer but I am not a person who really adores it. Returning the next morning, the twisting roads tested us once more. For a deeper dive into the region's culture, do not miss the accompanying video.
